P A R K I N GComplimentary parking (including designated space for handicap parking) is available off-site at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. Complimentary shuttle service back and forth to the event site at Port Royal Golf Club (approximately 10 minute ride) will be offered continuously during event hours.

A car enthusiast ever since the purchase
of his first car, a 1954 Chevrolet which he still owns, Dr. Sable is now a respected automotive historian, collector, writer, restorer, appraiser and
general all-around enthusiast. His “day”
job is teaching Kutztown University students the fine points of marketing. Recently he also accepted a leadership role
as Vice Chairman of the Board for America on Wheels, a new transportation
museum built in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Dr. Sable’s personal collection leans toward the hybrids of the 1950s, which are unlike the more modern-day association of dual-power sources in a single vehicle. Hybrids of the 50s refer to the body and running chassis combinations such as Dr. Sable’s Fiat 8V Supersonica, Nash-Healey, Hudson-Italia, Dual Ghia and Facel-Vega.
Dr. Sable is the co-founder and former director of the Concours d’Elegance of the Eastern United States (1990-1995) and has been an advisor to a number of concours events that began after 1995. He has judged at nearly every concours in the country and has been chief/head judge for the Glenmoor Gathering, Greenwich and Hilton Head Concours and is part of the judging staff for Meadow Brook, Pebble Beach, Barrington, Amelia Island, Radnor and more. He likens organizing the wide-ranging personalities and interests of individual judges to his classroom experiences by observing that “A key is matching personalities, expertise and making it an organized, fun experience. Fun in the classroom aids learning, and fun on the field makes for enjoyable and successful judging.”
Dr. Sable enjoys researching and writing about automotive topics that are of interest to him. This has led to contributions to articles for Automobile Quarterly and an abstract presented to the Society of Automotive Historians which was subsequently published in that organization’s Automotive History Review.
